Instructions for Use
Sizing: Ensure your Ridge Signet Ring fits snugly but comfortably. A proper fit reduces the chance of slipping, pressure points, or difficulty removing the ring. If you experience discomfort or circulation issues, remove the ring or try a different size. The Ridge Signet Ring cannot be resized after purchase. If you need assistance with sizing, contact Ridge Support.
Fit Check: Finger size can change over time due to temperature, weight fluctuation, swelling, or pregnancy. Fingers are typically slightly larger in the evening and smaller in the morning. Sizing in the middle of the day tends to give the most accurate fit. Check the fit of your Ridge Signet Ring periodically and resize as needed to maintain comfort and safe circulation.
Wearing: The Ridge Signet Ring is designed for everyday wear across a wide range of activities. Review the Safety Guidelines below for important information about wearing your ring during specific activities.
Removal: The Ridge Signet Ring should slide off comfortably when the fit is correct. If swelling makes removal difficult, do not force it. Seek assistance or medical attention if needed.
Personal Care Products: Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen, or other personal care products before putting on your Ridge Signet Ring. Allowing these products to dry or absorb into the skin before wearing your ring helps minimize direct contact with the finish and extend its appearance over time.
Water Exposure: The Ridge Signet Ring is safe for brief water exposure such as handwashing or light rain. Remove your ring before swimming, bathing, or prolonged water exposure. When in doubt, remove your ring before water exposure and rinse and dry thoroughly if contact occurs.
Safety Guidelines
Child and Vulnerable Person Safety Warning: The Ridge Signet Ring and Ridge Travel Case are not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. Keep out of reach of children and vulnerable persons. Small components, including the ring and travel case parts, are a choking hazard. Ensure the Ridge Travel Case latch is fully secured when not in use. Adult supervision is required when worn or handled near children or vulnerable persons.
Intended Use: The Ridge Signet Ring is designed for everyday wear as a personal accessory. It is intended to be worn as a finger ring and is not designed for use as a tool, structural component, or for any purpose other than personal wear.
Small Parts: The Ridge Signet Ring and Ridge Travel Case contain small parts. If any component is swallowed or ingested, seek immediate medical attention.
No Breakaway Feature: The Ridge Signet Ring is a metal ring and does not have a breakaway feature. It will not stretch or snap under pressure. Do not wear it during activities where snagging, impact, or significant force to the hand is a risk. If the ring becomes stuck due to swelling or injury, do not attempt to force it off. Seek medical or emergency assistance immediately.
Machinery and Physical Labor: Avoid wearing your Ridge Signet Ring when operating heavy machinery or during activities where a ring could snag or catch on equipment. Remove your ring before physical labor, construction, mechanical work, automotive work, gardening, or any activity where hands are exposed to moving parts, tools, or equipment.
Electrical Work: The Ridge Signet Ring conducts electricity and should never be worn during electrical work. Remove your ring before any task involving live wires, electrical panels, or powered equipment.
Sports and Athletics: Remove your Ridge Signet Ring before contact sports, weightlifting, rock climbing, and other high-impact athletic activities. The Ridge Signet Ring does not have a breakaway feature and poses an injury risk if caught or compressed during physical activity.
Swelling and Circulation: If your fingers swell for any reason, including activity, heat, pregnancy, injury, or medical conditions, monitor the fit of your ring closely. Remove your Ridge Signet Ring immediately if it feels too tight or if you notice any numbness, tingling, or discoloration. If the ring cannot be removed due to swelling, seek professional assistance. Do not attempt to force it off.
Emergency Removal: If the Ridge Signet Ring cannot be removed due to hand trauma, severe swelling, or any other emergency, do not attempt to force it off. The Ridge Signet Ring cannot be cut with standard tools and requires a specialized ring cutter available to emergency medical personnel. Inform emergency responders of the ring material so they can use appropriate tools. If you anticipate difficulty removing your ring due to a medical condition, consult a physician before wearing.
Medical Situations: Remove your Ridge Signet Ring before procedures involving electrical equipment or imaging technology such as MRI, as metal rings are not compatible with MRI environments. For other medical procedures that require hand or arm access, consult your medical provider about whether your ring should be removed. Always follow the guidance of your medical provider.
Extended Wear: Remove your Ridge Signet Ring periodically during extended wear to allow skin to breathe and check circulation. Check the skin beneath your ring regularly for redness, irritation, or indentation and allow the area to recover if any occur. Remove your ring before sleep, during activities that cause excessive hand sweating, and any time your fingers are prone to swelling. If your ring becomes stuck during sleep due to swelling, do not attempt to force it off.
Skin Care and Allergies: The Ridge Signet Ring is available in two materials with different nickel content. Some individuals may experience allergic reactions to metal, with nickel sensitivity being the most common. The Titanium colorway is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. The 316L Stainless Steel colorways (Platinum and 18K Gold) contain nickel, which is tightly bonded within the alloy and released at a low rate. These colorways are safe for most people; however, individuals with known nickel or metal sensitivities should choose the Titanium colorway or consult a physician before wearing. Prolonged wear may also cause irritation independent of allergy. If you notice redness, itching, or swelling beneath your Ridge Signet Ring, discontinue use and allow the area to recover. Persistent symptoms should be evaluated by a physician. Always ensure your ring is fully dry before storing in the Ridge Travel Case to prevent moisture buildup and skin irritation.
Heat and Temperature: Metal conducts heat and cold. Remove your Ridge Signet Ring before entering environments with extreme temperatures, such as industrial heat settings, saunas, or cold-weather outdoor activities. The ring can reach uncomfortable or unsafe temperatures against the skin if worn in extreme conditions. Use caution when cooking or working near open flames, hot surfaces, or grills, as the ring can heat up quickly and cause burns.
Environmental and Physical Risks: Prolonged exposure to chemicals including pool and cleaning agents or salt water may affect the finish of the Ridge Signet Ring over time.
Ring Condition: Inspect your ring before each use. The Ridge Signet Ring should be free of sharp edges, cracks, or significant deformation. A damaged ring may cause injury and should not be worn. If you notice any damage, discontinue use immediately and contact Ridge Support.
Disassembly and Modifications: Do not attempt to resize your Ridge Signet Ring, as doing so may crack or permanently damage it. Modifications including third-party engraving, finish alterations, or any unauthorized repairs may void your warranty coverage. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the Ridge Travel Case.
Maintenance & Storage
General Cleaning: Clean the Ridge Signet Ring regularly with mild soap and warm water. Use a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before wearing or storing. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, and abrasive cleaners, which can damage finishes and materials. Always ensure your ring is fully dry before returning it to the Ridge Travel Case.
Titanium Care: The Titanium Ridge Signet Ring is naturally corrosion-resistant, tarnish-proof, and low-maintenance. It is not susceptible to tarnishing or corrosion from everyday exposure to water, sweat, or personal care products. Clean with mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth or brush. Avoid hot water and abrasive cleaners. The Titanium Ridge Signet Ring is safe for use in an ultrasonic cleaner.
PVD Coating Care (Platinum and 18K Gold): The PVD coating on the Platinum and 18K Gold Ridge Signet Ring is durable but requires specific care to maintain its appearance. Do not use jewelry polish, abrasive polishing cloths, or harsh chemical cleaners on PVD-coated pieces, as these can strip or dull the coating. Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorinated water, saltwater, household cleaners, personal care products, and excessive sweat. If contact occurs, rinse and dry immediately. Use caution with ultrasonic cleaners and ensure any cleaning solution used is non-abrasive and safe for PVD-coated jewelry. For deeper cleaning, use a jewelry-safe solution appropriate for PVD-coated stainless steel.
PVD Coating and Surface Wear (Platinum and 18K Gold): PVD coatings provide scratch resistance but are not scratch-proof. Light surface scratches from normal wear are expected over time. With prolonged wear, PVD coatings may wear through in areas of frequent contact. This is a normal characteristic of PVD-coated rings.
Ring Maintenance: Use the included Cleaning/Polish Cloth for quick touch-ups between cleanings to remove fingerprints, oils, and light surface buildup from the Ridge Signet Ring.
Drying and Storage: Always ensure the Ridge Signet Ring is completely dry before placing it in the Ridge Travel Case, as storing a damp ring in a sealed case may promote moisture buildup and skin irritation. Store separately from other jewelry to prevent scratching. Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme heat or cold, humidity, and sharp objects.
Water Exposure and Care: The Ridge Signet Ring is safe for brief water exposure such as handwashing or light rain. Remove your ring before swimming, bathing, or prolonged water exposure to protect the finish. Prolonged submersion or repeated exposure to pool chemicals, saltwater, or hot tubs may affect the finish over time. Rinse your ring with fresh water and dry thoroughly after any water exposure.
UV and Sunlight Exposure: Prolonged UV exposure may affect certain metal finishes over time. Consider removing the Ridge Signet Ring during extended outdoor exposure.
Chemical Exposure: Avoid contact with harsh chemicals such as bleach, acetone, or chlorine, which may damage the finish of the Ridge Signet Ring.
Ridge Travel Case Maintenance: Periodically inspect the Ridge Travel Case and foam insert for signs of damage or deterioration. If the foam insert degrades significantly, remove and discard it, as degraded foam can produce particles that may irritate skin. To clean the case, remove the foam insert and wash with mild soap and warm water. Do not wash the foam insert, as it may absorb water and develop mildew. Allow the case to dry fully before reassembling.
Disposal: Do not dispose of the Ridge Signet Ring or Ridge Travel Case in household trash. The Ridge Signet Ring contains metals that can be recycled. Take it to a local metal recycler or contact your local waste disposal authority for guidance. Dispose of the Ridge Travel Case in accordance with local environmental regulations. Do not incinerate.
